As we approach the last part of 2020, we'd like to share some updates about where we are with the Symphony Provider Directory.
Orchestrating a state-wide solution
This year, our work has focused on streamlining Symphony so that we can bring on additional plans and providers. What that looks like:
Preparing our clients to exchange data, which takes careful planning and is where our vision for Symphony comes to life
Working with regulators such as the Department of Managed Health Care to understand requirements and give industry feedback
Developingprovider directory data standards that avoid proprietary designs so Symphony works for everyone
Implementing the Symphony-Availity integration so small practices and individual providers can have a way to give us their data (stay tuned!)
Takeaways from our second year
Building a statewide solution from scratch means that we're uncovering new challenges every day to solve. In 2020, we've found that:
Building a standard is a challenging but worthwhile journey because we're establishing best practices for exchanging provider data.
It's critical that organizations be open to change— especially the organizations who are farther away from the standards we're developing.
Industry collaboration is the key to success, which is why we continually collect feedback through client programs and data governance user groups.
We will continue to share as we evolve and grow. If you're new to Symphony, check out the insights from our first year bydownloading our white paper.
Achieving industry-wide participation
To date, we have contracts with 95+ provider organizations and 14 health plans, including Blue Shield of California, Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, Health Net, and Cigna. We're excited to bring on more organizations as we work towards capturing more than 50% of California's provider directory data by 2022. Thinking of joining us? Now is the perfect time to get in touch.
Our roadmap for success
We’ve come a long way since launching in 2019. Follow along as we continue to grow and fulfill our vision of simplifying provider data across California.
