Compliance, Simplified
Accurate provider directories matter. Symphony addresses regulatory requirements associated with SB 137, CMS, and HR 133, but is poised to support more related to provider directory accuracy.
SB 923: TGI Inclusive Care Act
SB 923 requires health plans to provide a list of in-network providers that offer gender affirming services in their provider directories, ensuring that TGI individuals know where to get care. The DMHC will provide guidance and training by September 2024 in preparation for the March 2025 update deadline. Symphony is poised to support this regulation by providing a centralized, cloud-based platform for providers to submit attestations to their contracted California plans for these services.
AB 236: Healthcare coverage: provider directories
Currently in legislature, AB 236 requires health plans to annually audit and delete inaccurate listings with penalties for not meeting accuracy benchmarks. A provision was amended enabling the DMHC to mandate a standard format for submitting provider directory information and participation in a utility (such as Symphony). Symphony has made strides in implementing a Standard File Format that fulfills this requirement and supports data structure and quality across California (more on this below).
